Stereoview Picture of slaves on a Georgetown, South Carolina Rice Plantation.
A few weeks ago, my daughter-in-law shared how her Mom had just visited the plantation where her ancestors had been held. The plantation was in Gates North Carolina. My daughter-in-law is quite the accomplished genealogist and has compiled an extensive family tree. Yesterday, I ran across an old Stereoview I purchased decades ago depicting slaves working on a Georgetown, South Carolina Rice Plantation. The nexus of my daughter-in-law tracing my grand-daughter's ancestors to this period in time to a neighboring state, makes me understand why I purchased this item so many decades ago. These aren't nameless people, but SOMEBODY's ancestors. Click here to read the steroview text.
Please comment if you had ancestors held in Georgetown, South Carolina.
