Sophie attended a Rosenwald funded school as a third grader.
Rosenwald funded schools were discussed in my genealogy club meeting. Rosenwald was a Sears executive who funded many schools in the south for Black students.
In our November CIGS meeting, the subject of Rosenwald funded schools came up. If you have pictures of a Rosenwald funded school or have encountered mention of this fund in your research, please post a comment.
