William Johnson (Gordon) Moore was one of the main reasons I do genealogy. Growing up a picture of him and my grandmother Ella sat on a bookcase in our upstairs hall. That photo was lost in a house fire. The only image of them is in my mind.

I gave a presentation on how I found marriage documents that place the time of the name change between 1885 and 1886.
