Bill and Cynthia in Hawaii, 2009 ... from our trip to Kono Hawaii. They were taken at the top of
the crater at Volcano National Park on the big island. Pleasssse look at
photo number 35. We were standing on the very edge of the crater, about
5 feet from the edge. Behind us is a 3-4 hundred foot fall into the volcano
floor and sudden death.
If you look closely, that smile on Cynthia's face is forced at best. If you
look again, you will note that she has a super grip on me! :-) I want you to
know, Cynthia has a concern about heights. For her to have joined her dare-
devil husband, on the edge of an active volcano five feet from certain death
(in one of the pictures you can see the smoke coming from one of the
openings on the floor of the volcano) was a very courageous thing. We could
feel the heat from the hot lava as we stood there. Hats off to Cynthia for
taking that step and having the faith in me that we would not fall into the
volcano! As I look at these pictures again and again, one thing was also
certain. By her claw-like grip on me it is certain that if she goes over the
edge then I would go toooooooooooooo! Wowzeres! :-) LOL (At least one living or private individual is linked to this item - Details withheld.)
