Research Plan for Robert and Harriet Williams
Robert and Harriet were slaves in Culpeper Virginia, and were sold to a owner in western Tennessee. The earliest document I have for Harriet is the 1880 census.
1. Identify the Tennessee slave holder of Robert and Harriet Williams. Look at Gibson and Obion county records. Robert and Harriet were purchased from an owner in Culpeper Virginia. Robert's grandson William Carter Cole, was told his middle name had some bearing on the family's stay in Virginia.
2. Identify the Virginia slaveholder of Robert and Harriet Williams.
