20 During the early post-war years most of the people on our block had renters. Mr. James rented our large upstairs bedroom for three years. (I often wondered why one of our bedrooms had a small Chambers stove in it). My sister recalled that Rev. Mozel Sanders rented a room two doors to the east of our hours for several years.

At first, Sophie thought that they moved to Indianapolis during the war, then she recalled that they didn't use ration books in Indiana, just Tennessee.

50 It was Thanksgiving 1966, the Crawfords were visiting; I had just made my first trip home in my freshman year in college. After the hellos and hugs, Uncle Bob went out to his car, and returned with a new black leather jacket, he said "here take this". For the next few years, I looked as cool as Uncle Bob.

Later as a young adult, I have fond memories of the maple bar Uncle Bob had in the basement. It was good to sit at that bar as a 60 year old last year.
