"Don't forget to bring dem Geeters" as our uncle Spot usta' say! If you don't remember or know what a Geeter is, it's 25 cents (a quarter).

Hello to all:

I hope this finds you well. This is just a reminder to all of us how important I believe this reunion actually is to all of us. It's more than a simple family get together, its more than a place to come to eat, its more that just something to do! It's importance is that we, as family, take a minute out of what we sometime get confused as our busy lives, to fellow-ship with loved ones! I am not sure what God has planned for us, but I do know, as sure as you get up in the morning, its only by his grace that you do! In these days, to have a family as large as ours, is somethin"!

Our families have been blessed to witness and share in the lives of our family. For many of us, longevity smiles down on us each day. In honor of that fact and to obey one of the Commandments, honor thy father and thy mother, we should honor our parents and family members. Our cousin Joyce and her family and some of you to an extent, have taken the lead in making this happen for all of us. To that end, I offer my thanks to her and John, and each of her sons and extended family members; our cousins and in-laws. A lot of work has gone into this planning for this event. Let us not be so ___ important that we forget what this is really all about. I assure you that, me and mine (if Billy is home and Lisa has a way) will be there!

So, please take time to attend this well planned, very personable family affair. You know it's coming, so plan to take a day off from what you may be doing, to be with family. I don't think that's asking too much! As you know on the Edwards side, we have only two senior members from the original "Gang of 8" with us. That's mom, Virginia Mae Edwards Smitherman-Franklin, A.K.A. "The Gunfighter", at 92 years old and her sister Dorothy Louise Edwards-Throne, A.K.A. "The Warden" at 86 years of age. What a blessing to have them both with us! Then there's all of us; the children and grand children, in-laws, family and life long friends. I hope some of our dearest friends do come to meet and celebrate this opportunity to fellowship.

Well, I guess I've said my share on this. Cynthia and I "have tickets/will travel for this event. I look forward to seeing all of you in a few months. Love you all!

P.S. Some body bring the cards for Dadabella, Tonk, Bid or poker; please! And not cheep ones that you play "Pitty Pat" with but the red and blue "Ace, Bee or Bicycles". And by all means, "Don't forget to bring dem Geeters" as our uncle Spot usta' say! If you don't remember or know what a Geeter is, it's 25 cents (a quarter). No matter where nor when we meet as family, we must keep the tradition going; playing cards with the family! :-)))

P.S. # 2 Our cousin Robert "Bobby" Meadows, Mr. Biggs said he will be there! Has some one reached out to Karen, Chris, Poo , Harvey and others? It's worth a try.
